Couldn't agree more re: the Old Gah-den.

Smelled like piss, had rats running between the seats, and rocked like hell. No one had to prompt you w/crappy over-modulated "rock" music. Real fans knew when to cheer.

The new arena has absolutely no soul, just like the Bruins, and just like their owner (the WORST in all of sports). But having grown up worshipping Bobby Orr, Espo, Middleton, Boureque, Neely, etc., I can't help but still try and root for them. Wish jacobs would sell the team to an owner who cares but it's his cash cow and it'll never happen.

Amazing to me just how many DeadHead/RedSox/Pats/Bruins/Celts fans there are on this forum!

(Dead played some great shows at the old Garden, too, including one of the very best: 5/7/77

grendel, i hear ya on the b's -- gotta keep the support even though ownership has just hacked away at the spirit and heart of the franchise, not to mention the hallowed ice on which it used to skate. will never forget floating up and down on the shaking balcony during the unforgettable 1991 run. saw every show on that run, and most of them were gems. the last one had a historic, classic feel to it, esp with 'bid you goodnight' with house lights up. memories for a lifetime. GO SAWX!
